Hello all!

I am in NZ right now. The flight over wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I watched 3 decent movies, slept and got to know the other volunteers. We are waiting in Auckland terminal and it's pretty nice here. I definetely am going to take sometime to travel back to NZ. I am a day ahead of everyone back in the US so it's saturday today. On monday we start training and actually get to spend a week in a hotel in Port Vila, the capital of Vanuatu. time is up...

Love you all

    Hi Val,
Glad to hear you tolerated the flight across the big pond OK. Not so bad if you can vary your time between sleep, entertainment, and talk. By now you should be in Vanuatu. I bet the wait in Aukland was unbearable !! I remember having a layover like that in Sydney last year. I've been reading lots of blogs about Vanuatu peace corp volunteers thanks to Mile Sheppard who gave a link to a directory in on of you blogs. The Peace Corps sounds a little like the military when it comes to being flexible and having to wait lots. From the sounds of the blogs I have read, I think you will have a great experience. I got your IPod charger and will send it along with all the other stuff. Sounds like when you go to Lelepa you will not have any communications for 3 months !! We're going to miss hearing from you, but not as much as we already miss you being here !!
Be safe and enjoy your adventure,
    Love,
    Mom and Dad

    Val,
WOW, in such a short time you have already done more than some people will do in a lifetime and your adventure is just beggining! Just think about all you will accomplish during your time in the Peace Corp. You will have a significant impact on the world. You have a kind heart, go and share it with the world!

    Rob
